Edutomahawk 2014

I was nominated as the team leader to encourage and guide my team through the project. Given a short amount of time, I had to source for sponsorship, plan and execute those fund raising event for Assisi Hospice. During the cause of these events, I have built up my courage and confidence to communicate effectively and confidently with my customers, vendors and community leaders. These interactive skill sets is crucial element especially in preparation for my future such as work interviews, presentation and in my next higher learning program. As a team leader while managing the team, I also realized that a good

relationship among teammates also holds an important factor towards the project's success rate. Besides maintaining a good relationship with my teammates, vendors and volunteers, skills such as resource management and finance management were also acquired. After being through a series of meeting with out vendors, we have learned how to negotiate, which we can apply in our future job where we are doing our own businesses. I am truly glad that I participated in this program, which allows me to be more social responsible, gaining more knowledge on project management and helping Assisi Hospice. Furthermore, it allows us to promote public awareness on palliative care and on youth volunteerism. Not only does this program allow me to further develop proper self-discipline and time management, I was also able to experience the joy of helping others.
